The Dallas Cowboys – The Greatest Show On Earth – Just Ask Jerry Jones
Here’s a little perspective for the rabid Dallas Cowboys fan.
The first decade of the New Millennium (2000-2009) ended with the Cowboys regular season won-loss record at 82-78. That’s a winning percentage of 51.3 percent. That is the worst official decade in their illustrious history.
So far, the second decade of the New Millennium (2010-2016) finds the Cowboys with a record of 59-55 for a winning percentage of 51.8 percent. This pace qualifies for the second worst official decade in Cowboys history.
Of course, if not for the just finished 13 win season, the pace for this decade, if continued, would have established a new “Worst Official Decade” in team history.
I don’t know about you, but that’s not exactly the kind of notoriety I grew up with, especially the kind that ends with 20 consecutive winning seasons.
Of course, I’m not the Owner or the General Manager of the Cowboys. Therefore, my thoughts on the matter are moot at best.
And, as we were just reminded by the current Cowboys Owner and GM, the real impact of this season is summed up with these words of Jerry, “We put on a great show.”
Shaken’ my head!
