Luis Olmeda is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge. Features a medium-sized build with some lean athleticism. Ran a 7.04 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed methodical actions. Aggressive/quick early in the approach with some choppy footwork into reception. Solid glovework where he fielded it clean and out front. Avg. momentum created through reception but shows adv. arm strength he gets to with ease that got off downhill accurate throws. At 1B. he fields in rhythm and sets direction well on DP throws he gets off with some quickness showing similar strength while also showing an ability to throw on the run. At the plate, he sides in a wider base and uses a smaller stride. Intentful/violent swings. Showed noticeable quickness to the hands that translated to some adv. bat speed and impact. Some natural loft in the path with some out front intent. Swing translated in-game with a couple barrels with his loudest being a shot off the RF wall for a double. On the mound, he threw a shutout inning where he displayed a balanced/athletic delivery. Fast mover down the mound where he moves with good pace and lands on-line. Arm works into a medium circle out the back and gets to a lower 3/4 slot. Advanced armspeed. FB was up to 87 and had some natural running action. Mixed in a SL in the mid 70s that had quality depth and lateral movement. Avg. command but stuff is overpowering at this level. Named to 14U Select Fest Roster.
