Dexter McCleon Jr is a 2028 OF/RHP with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Buford, GA who attends Buford. Outstanding young athletic build with tons of physical projection remaining. Right handed hitter, starts from a medium base with a high back elbow start, aggressive well timed swing with top of the scale raw bat speed, gets the barrel out in front for hard pull side contact, big power projection. 6.57 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, fields the ball out front with soft hands, full arm action and long stride into release, gets longs of carry on his throws. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a high leg raise start, stays over his back leg well, high 3/4;s arm slot with lots of extension out front, low effort release. Fastball was in the upper 80's with some occasional running action, slider was the better of his two breaking balls, surprising quality to his change up for a secondary pitcher. Would be a top pitching prospect if not for his athleticism and offensive potential. Selected to participate in the Perfect Game 14U Select Festival.
