Valentin Ceballos is a 2028 RHP/IF with a 6-1 182 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends New Braunfels. Tall, athletic frame with room to continue to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher, big side step into a belt high leg lift, full arm path in the back to a three-quarters release point. Got ahead in counts and pounded the zone with a three pitch mix. Overpowering fastball for the age, ran it up to 90 mph (2047 RPM) and worked in the upper-80s comfortably. Spun a slider with developing feel and horizontal shape, up to 71 mph (2105 RPM) and also turned over a changeup, up to 75 mph (1975 RPM). 7.79 runner in the sixty-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, corner actions with fundamental footwork and developing lateral range, fields it out front with two hands, gets it out quick with good feel for internal clock, big arm strength across recording throws up to 89 mph. Also worked out in the outfield and showed off the big arm strength there recording throws up to 94 mph. Right-handed hitter, medium base with a high back elbow in the stance, direct barrel path with big strength when in rhythm. Works into the legs well and generates great bat speed. Great student.
