Taking the ball in the starting role for Wow Factor Carolina 16u National in their first game of the weekend was Bryson Apple (’27, NC). The 6-2/165 RHP is lean with present dexterity and repeats his delivery at a high level as seen with his over 70% strike percentage throughout. Using a linear path down the mound and a deeper slightly offline arm path, Apple cruised in the upper-70s with his fastball that he moved around the zone with ease. He generated swing and miss with his vertical curve ball in the upper 60s, and it shows plus pitch potential long-term. He finished his outing going 4.0 IP, allowing 6 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk and he punched out 5 batters.
